Happy Spring!!! We have lots going on to look forward to, so here goes. As you read in Becky's article, costumer Barbi Nippler from Houston, Texas will be here for our April meeting. Here's a little about Barbi. She has been sewing for over 40 years, beginning with her own clothes, then her daughters, then she made bridesmaid dresses and evening gowns. About 15 years ago, her husband, Jim, became a Shrine Clown and needed a costume. He went to an International Shrine Clown Convention several months later and came in the top 5 in competition. Soon some of his fellow clowns asked Barbi to make them costumes as well. So, "Classics by Barbi" began. If you have a chance, log onto her website for a sneak preview of what she has to offer. (www.classicsbybarbi.homestead.com) After a short business meeting, we'll be helping anyone who needs help with their costume and/or make-up. If you know anyone who is not a member, but would like some help, bring them along.

Now a look into the future, May will bring us our annual swap meet. Any member who has "stuff" to sell will get a table or portion thereof as part of their membership benefits at no charge, whereas non-members will be charged a small fee of $5.00 per table. We need to know by May 1st how many want to sell so we can arrange to have enough tables. You can let us know at the April meeting or call before May 1st. Also that night we'll be having elections. President, Vice-president and Secretary/Treasurer
will be voted upon and we will also need a new editor for the newsletter, as Rich, after doing it for the last 2 years is not going to do it next year. Then get ready to play games in June. Summer will be in full swing and what better thing to do than play games. I wonder if there might be a water balloon toss out in the parking lot?? I'll see you on April 8th.

Whether you are a First of May or a Seasoned Professional you will be thrilled to go on a shopping spree among all her goodies. Barbi is giving Betty Cash and Pricilla Mooseburger a run for their money with her beautiful and unique costumes and accessories. She will be bringing over 80 costumes and you will find something right for your own clown personality! First of Mays, could you use a little help with your makeup, hair and costuming ideas? Maybe you just need to add a little something to an existing costume? Everyone is welcome to come in costume and makeup and we can help each other put together a look you will be proud of.
Recapping our March meeting, it was a wild and crazy night for all of us who attended a birthday party hosted by Shylo the Clown and the lucky birthday girl was none other than Paulette Rosen. As we arrived we were treated to face painting and party hats and after a brief meeting Shylo showed us her lively and entertaining birthday show that had us all laughing. After her shenanigans we got down to serious business as she read questions from the group and gave us great ideas how to handle many situations related to doing birthday parties. What a great learning experience!!!!!!
