Greetings from the Prez Box
Hello again. It's that time
once again, for our Funny Business monthly meeting. What are we doing
this month you ask? If you're into latex and lots of color and a lot
of hot air and fast moving fingers then you will not want to miss
our next lecture and teaching on "Advance Balloon Twisting"
with the one and only "Andrew ". Andrew has been so helpful
this past year in instructing many First of May clowns who ask and
seek information on, what balloons do what, and how much air, and
what's a pinch twist, bubble twist? What's that? Andrew has helped
not only First of May clowns but a lot of our seasoned clowns continue
to call and ask Andrew about new products new techniques and what's
happening in the balloon twisting world. We welcome and look forward
to an exciting lecture and evening on balloon twisting. Please do
not forget to bring your balloon pumps and balloons, if you do not
have either, there will be plenty for purchasing.

Last Month
Last month what an evening of fun and laughter
as we saw right before our eyes the transformation of Linda Hulet to
the one and only "Flo". If you missed last months lecture
and teaching please talk to members who learned so much on developing
a character clown .I was challenge to look at what I do and look into
improving my characters and clowning into a much more professional art.
Linda reminded us all that clowning really is an "Art" and
we must always strive to look and act as professional clowns. She answered
and helped so many of us as she invited questions from the group and
she answered and gave away her own secrets to build up and encourage
us in our clowning. I was amazed at how Linda could change voices and
characters by changing wigs, props, and outfits. The story's she told
kept us laughing. What a lecture, what fun. This is one lecture that
I would like to see back in our club at a future date.
THANK YOU LINDA!
Keep up the great job!
REMEMBER THIS MONTHS MEETING WILL BE MONDAY
APRIL 12th.
Meeting will start sharply at 7pm and there will be a $5.00 Non Member
Lecture Fee for all visitors.

Next month
Next month ... Once again
it will be time for elections so please start thinking about who you
would like to nominate or you may be thinking, "I would like to
run for office". Well the categories are.. President, Vice President,
Treasure, Secretary and of course our Editor of our newsletters. Start
thinking about it now, everyone is important and we welcome new members
to get involved and add fresh and new ideas. That's what keeps Funny
Business growing and exciting. Next month is also time for our annual
swap meet. Where the club and members of other clubs come and sell all
kinds of items from magic, props, clown outfits, games and many other
things that we feel are in good condition and will help other members
grow. There are some people who even bring new items for sell. So let
get ready for a very fun meeting. See ya all there!

COAI NEWS by Candy
Hello all you Clowns of America International
members!
By now I'm sure you have received your latest New Calliope and I sure
hope you saw my campaign speech! I would appreciate your vote, even
if I am the only one running. If I don't get any votes, then I will
not get the seat as your Regional Vice President and then you would
all be "Regionally Vice President challenged". . . Can't let
that happen. . . Anyway, thanks for your vote and if any of you ever
have questions about COAI or concerns or just some good ideas to pass
along, please contact me or any of your state ambassadors. Pat "Peppermint
Patti" or
Wendy Olson are your two local COAI Southern California Ambassadors
ready and willing to help. I will be heading off to Texas this month
to head the new Junior Joey program and with the help of the Junior
Joey committee, I am planning to give it all I got! Wish the Junior
Joey committee and myself good luck, and if any of you are going, please
let me know so I can catch up with you there!
