THIS MONTH

In August we are having our Clown School and our plan was to have the members bring one of their costumes, a clown prop, a magic effect, pictures of your clown character, you could come in motley and makeup if you have the time, with the idea to share with the students of the Clown School. There are still some openings left for anyone interested in learning to be a clown, but you'll have to act quickly as the first class starts on August 3rd at 6:45pm in the Anaheim Library (1340 S. Euclid , Anaheim, Ca.) . The first class will be an introduction to clowns, it's history, the types of clowns, clown ethics and you will learn a magic trick. The classes are scheduled for 2 hours each and students will learn the basics of clowning. Call Barbara or Paulette for more info.

CLOWN POWER

Never underestimate the powerful things that can happen to those around you when you are a clown. Case in point, Molly was entertaining a group of children face painting and asked one little girl, "what do you want on your face?" The little girl said, "I want to look like you Molly, I love you." The Mom had tears in her eyes and Molly asked her why? This little girl was traumatized 5 years ago and had not spoken a word since, until she spoke to Molly. The mother had many specialists work with the little girl to no avail, but a guess none as "special" as Molly.

LAST MONTH

Last month Burt Rosen (Paulette " Pom Pom" Rosen's husband) presented us with a lecture on how to promote yourself on the internet. He did an excellent job and all that attended learned a lot and were entertained by his professional, and at times, humorous delivery. Thank you Burt for the great job !! One point that really stuck with me is to have your e-mail on each one of your web pages. We're definitely having our website updated.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Barbara and Paulette did the Anaheim Hills 4th of July Parade and our club gets $100.00 for their participation, YEAH!!!!!!

The American Cancer Society is having a "Race for the Cure" on Sept. 24th in Laguna Beach from about 7 A.M. to 12 noon and needs volunteer clowns to entertain. Contact Lyn (949-9124) for the facts.

The San Juan Capistrano Mission is looking for volunteer clowns on August 26th to delight the children as they are doing immunizations that day. Contact person is Elayna O'Connell (pager (949) 729-4707)
