THIS MONTH

Our next meeting will be on August 13th and we will have a lecture presented by Adrea Gibbs. See the article by Becky for more info about Adrea. You will not want to miss out on this opportunity to learn from this great lecturer. There will be a $5.00 charge to non-members. Come support your club! If you have not paid your dues, only $12.00 for the year, they were due in June. LAST MONTH

Our July meeting, was presented by our President, Dena. It was a continuation on back to basics which included a special show on how NOT to do a party. She included lots of wit and wisdom on being a professional and on costuming and fielded many questions in regards to problems a clown might have in doing a party and what to do about them. It was a super lecture/ workshop! Thanks Dena!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Carson Clowns will again this year have a bus going to Laughlin in November. For those interested the price will be $160 round trip and includes 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts plus room accommodations, double occupancy. Ann Guenther says she'll bring more info to the next meeting or you can call Marcella Brannan @ (310) 549-4195, no calls after 7:30PM please. Sounds like way too much fun!

Happy summer to everyone!! I hope yours is going great. Mine is a little slow. The reason - the "Economy." I really is true that when the "Economy" is down, businesses have less money to spend, which means that if they have a special event like a picnic, they are most likely to cut a few things - such as the clown. If you are feeling the pinch, I hope it doesn't get your spirit down. If you are feeling a bit down, be sure to come to the next meeting. We are having a very special guest - see Becky's write up about Adrea - you don't want to miss her. And I'll be having a surprise for every member who comes. Our special guest is Adrea Gibbs from Simi Valley. Adrea comes to us with 25 years of backround in professional performance with experience ranging from CATS to STARLIGHT EXPRESS. She is involved in children's theater and is currently directing "Lets Put On a Circus". Her book, Let's Put On a Show is a wonderful compilation of information about scripting, make up, props and much more. Adrea is also a public speaker and has information to benefit clowns of every level from character development to show development. /She will be sharing with us about performing from the heart and going one-step-beyond to make your performance extra special.
