This Month's Knock Knock Joke

Knock Knock!

Who's there?

Woo. Woo, who?

Don't get so excited, it's just a joke.

Saying of the Month

Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside. -Mark Twain

This Month's Meeting

Since every one was admiring Ricky-Ricardo's make-up at the meeting last month, we asked him and his friends to do a make-up demonstrators The demonstrators are (Ricardo Trejo) clowning for 10 years, Sorullo, (Salvador Rodriguez)clowning for 8 years and Fiesta (Yazmin Garcia) clowning for 6 years. They are Mexicans who work in los angeles area and santa ana, and they love their job. Please bring your make up to practice with them at the same time they are doing it. That way they can help you with any question you may have. Don't forget the wipes or oil to take it off.

Klinko's Kolumn

Hi Clowns,
I sure hope you have been enjoying the hot, humid weather..... Not!
It sure is difficult when clowning in all this heat. You end up looking like a wet noodle. Here are a few hot weather tips to help cool things off.
Consider trading your wig in for a clowny hat. You can decorate them with all sorts of things that will coordinate with your costume and your character. You can go itsy bitsy, or hugey largo. It will help to keep you a bit cooler in the summer months.
Nothing wrong with fewer layers in your costume, and try to keep a cotton layer closest to your body. Avoid Polyester and synthetic fabrics! Try wearing a cotton undershirt, under your costume, as it can help to absorb perspiration. Wear extra deodorant so you smell sooo good up close.
Look for battery operated fans. There are all kinds of models available. You can find them at Big Lots, Walmart, Target, the swapmeet.... They sit right on the table, and move the air just enough to fake you out, and make you feel like it's not as hot as it really is.... Buy your batteries at Big Lots or the Dollar store, they are the best value. When all else fails, use your balloon pumps for a quick burst of air to help you cool down. Also, a spray bottle with water in it for a quick misting. Pack it in your cooler for a more refreshing squirt.
Pack cold drinks, mainly ice water.. Stay hydrated... Avoid the sun. Pack a beach type umbrella just in case. Bring a bungy cord in case you need to tie it down.
Wear funny sunglasses that match your costume. Not people kind, clown kind. There are so many bright colors and shapes available now days. Look around. Shop with clown eyes.
Try wearing a lighter foundation makeup instead of grease paint. Try Starblend Auguste Powder base makeups for a lighter feel. your skin will breath better. If you are wearing traditional grease paint makeup, remember to powder generously! Let it sit on you skin a minute longer as it will absorb into the skin better, then brush off excess.
Most importantly, remember, you are not the only one feeling the heat, stay in character, act cool at all times! Bump a nose - Klinko - <;o ) xxx
