This Month

DECEMBER HOLIDAY PARTY!

Our December meeting is our annual Holiday party that will be held at Wendy Olson's home in Yorba Linda on Monday, December 13th with hors d'oeuvre beginning at 6:00 and dinner starts at 7:00PM. Party until 9:30PM. Come prepared to have LOTS OF FUN! And Wendy is providing us with the magnificent pianist - Brian - for our pleasure.

Our club provides the turkey, ham, drinks and paper goods. We need each person to bring one dish of food for 4-6 people. Be creative or be earthy.

Wendy needs each and every one of you to bring your BABY PICTURE of you when you were UNDER 3 YEARS OLD. DO NOT show it to anyone ahead of time, as everyone has to guess "who's who" in the picture department. It will be FUN!

And if you would like to be part of our OPTIONAL gift exchange, a $5 -$15 gift is needed.

Wendy Olson's address is as follows: 17081 Rancho Lane, Yorba Linda, CA 92886. Telephone: 714/524-2897. Take the 57 (Orange) Freeway towards Pomona. Take the Orangethorpe Avenue exit and go 2.2 miles. Turn LEFT on Rosc Drive. Go 1.4 miles and turn RIGHT on Yorba Linda Boulevard. Go 0.2 miles and turn LEFT on Prospect Avenue. Go 0.4 miles and turn RIGHT on Rancho Lane. Go 0.1 miles and she is on the LEFT side of the street.

OUR OCTOBER GUEST SPEAKER!

I would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU for all of you that were on time and sitting down at 7PM for our October meeting. The meeting was able to start on time. We were thus able to give our guest demonstrator, Ken Sands, the time he needed to do his demonstration. He is the owner of Magic Galore and More whose shop is in a bowling alley. All that attended the meeting can attest that everyone was mesmerized by Ken's demonstration. And those who missed it really did miss out on a FANTASTIC demonstration. THANK YOU Ken! And THANK YOU members for being on time for the meeting. President Pam!

This N' That From President Pam

For those who did not go to the Western Regional Clown Association's convention (WRCA) in Laughlin Nevada in November, you missed out on LOTS of learning and LOTS of fun. I would like all of you who attended the convention to write down things that you feel you learned that would benefit our club members. We can either put these things in our newsletter or we can present them at the meeting. This is your club so at our party you can decide what you want those who attended to do with their knowledge.

AND. . . . . .many of our members did win at the convention. The winners are mentioned below as follows:

CANDY "BUTTERSCOTCH" WILL who is our Treasurer and COAI Regional V.P. won as follows: (1) second place group skits for the Pirate Skit "Right Toe". (2) Third place for full-face painting (3) third place for tattoo face painting. JOHN "CUDDLES" ACUNA or Vice President won second place for full-face painting. And they had the theme party which was "Come as your favorite toy" and Pam "TWINKLES d' CLOWN" House, your President, won first place for her SLINKY costume. And Paulette "Pom-Pom" Rosen won for her Mr. Potato Head.

And I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. My dad, oldest brother, myself and a few other of my usher friends at church went over to La Casa Garcia restaurant right after our Thanksgiving service. They are a two blocks from church and they serve close to 15,000 low income and homeless people in the area on that day with a turkey dinner. We went there and helped and will go next year again. It makes you appreciate what you have.

And I want to wish everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON and a simply WONDERFUL New Year. And think of new ideas for our club in the coming year. YOUR CLUB IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOU MAKE IT!

WANTED: YOUR BIOGRAPHY

Our newsletter editor, Paulette "Pom-Pom" Rosen still needs things to put into the newsletter. The more items that we have, the better the newsletter.

We have not gotten any clown biographies from our members for the newsletter. It seems that nobody has the desire to have this item in our monthly newsletter. I have decided not to "FORCE" people to compose their biographies for "THE FUNNIES." You are all adults so this is the last time my request will be in the newsletter. Paulette will still accept the biographies for the newsletter if you send them to her but I will not
continue to press the members for them anymore.

COAI NEWS by Candy

Hello Everyone!
What a great time at the Western Region Clown convention! It was good to see Cheri there and we talked some about the Junior Joeys and where it was going from there. I hope there is some consideration for going to Grand Rapids, Michigan in April! It would be good to see COAI representation from the Southwest and our club. It is a 50's theme and it sounds like they are going to have some fun with it. You should check out the website by going on to the COAI website at: www.coai.org and click the banner that says Convention 2005. I will be there with my little clown Beary running the Junior Joey program and just having fun!
The Peachey Keene University went very well with representation from four different clubs. Steve Long taught a good days worth of clown information and I am still hearing from those who attended how glad they were to experience it.
See you all at the Christmas Party!
Candy Will
Treasurer and
COAI Southwest Regional VP
