 THE FUNNIES

 December 28, 2000 Volume 10, Number 8

THIS MONTH

We are starting the new year out with a lecture by Barbara Baldwin. The topic will be "Taxes Are No Clowning Matter". This proves to be a very informative lecture as Barbara is a CPA and does taxes. Bring all your questions with you about your taxes and she'll be able to answer most of them as she is informed on all the new twists the IRS and State have in store for us all. Everyone that comes I'm sure will learn something that will help them with their taxes.
We are also going to discuss by-laws for our club, to help it run better and protect it from outside influences. We'll have a couple of examples from existing clown alleys to share and we would like to vote on ones that we would adopt as our own. Plus Linda Hulet is going to share some of her wealth of information on what it takes to become affiliated with COAI as a Clown Alley and what are the advantages to the club. Should be really interesting and I'm looking forward to it.

 LAST MONTH

Our December Pot Luck/ Gift Exchange went very well. Linda cooked a turkey and Sherry a ham and lots of other food was shared by all. Ritz shared his version of "The Twelve Clown Days of Christmas" as we all sang the familiar song, but with clown related items for lyrics. What great fellowship! Thank you all for a memorable evening.

 SPECIAL EVENTS

Dena Piriano , Under the Big Top, will be bringing clown accessories to our January meeting. This is the first time in a long time that we will have a dealer at one of our meetings. Again, she is only going to bring the clown accessories part of her business but she indicated that if anyone needed anything else, for them to please call her at least two days before the meeting and she'll bring in your specific needs. Call Dena at (714) 579-1144, that will connect you to her voice mail/answering system. Our January meeting will be OPEN TO ALL so don't miss this opportunity to learn and get your clown supplies all at one time. Please note that for voting purposes, only those that have been members in good standing for at least two months will be permitted to vote on any Funny Business Clowns business issue. Come support your club and help us to build it into "The Best in the West".
