Funny Business Rings in the New Year

We all hope you had a very special holiday season. Food, friends and laughter dominated the evening of December 10th as we met at Becky's house for our annual Holiday Party. A big thanks to Becky for opening up her home to us! At best count there were over twenty of us in attendance and the sack of toys for charity was quite large by the end of the evening. Dena directed a couple of novel games and the word of the evening was "THONG". If you weren't there you'll have to hear the explanation from someone else. However, ask around at our January meeting and if you happen to ask the right person you will probably see a very bright blush! We all had a great time learning a little something about each other. Did you know that Captain Leo was shy? (Yeah, right!!) Did you know that Becky spoke to President Ford on the phone? And did you know that your club president was expelled from grammar school? We also saw another side to our talents when we all had to pair up and sing a Christmas song. Dena thanks all of you that donated a toy and she represented Funny Business on Dec. 15th and she was introduced to Rex Hudler and gave him the toys on behalf of the entire club. He was most gracious in accepting our donation. ( Check out the website : angelsboosterclub.org , for a write up and photos.

January Meeting and Future Plans

He may not be a household name, but after the January meeting, you'll know him very well. On January 14th we'll all have the opportunity to meet and learn from Don Caldwell. He's a swell guy (his Mom said so). He can do amazing magic tricks, he is really funny, and best of all he makes the most amazing balloons you have ever seen! Most people think that Don is great with kids but the truth is, he just is one. Don's client list includes the Irvine Spectrum, Edison Field, Disney Special Events, Boeing, Jim Henson Studios, Bobby McGee's and many others. He has also created three instructional videos that have quickly become favorites with balloon twisters all over the world. His upcoming lecture will be on how to entertain with balloons. He will be sharing many of his favorite techniques, gags, and routines that he has built his reputation on, including, "The World's Greatest One Handed Blindfolded Balloon Twister" routine (worth the price of admission alone). After that, he will be teaching several new sculptures that he has never taught before. This is material from Don's next video that will not be out until spring, but he will be giving us a sneak preview that night. You don't want to miss this!!! There will be a $5.00 charge for non-members, a very small price to pay for this fun evening! Don will also have his videos for sale.
In MARCH our own Linda Hulet will be presenting BIRTHDAY PARTIES. Even if you don't do Birthday parties, you will not want to miss Linda's presentation as you will surely learn some things you can use in your clowning. In APRIL, we'll be having a costume presentation by Barbi from Texas. She'll also be selling her line of costumes and accessories. In MAY, we will have our annual swap meet and elections.
