Wise Words from Wendy

Happy New Year to everyone! We had a great Christmas around the world party!!!  Wendy's husband Dave played the piano along with Elves singing as everyone arrived.  Sherry recited a poem that brought tears to our eyes her Mom wrote, and a letter about the true meaning of Christmas at her house  Sandy sang and Wendy signed Christmas selections, Silent Night & Jingle Bells while Dave played the piano; Dave also had to play Grandma got ran over by a reindeer. Everyone shared what they do around their home; and a couple of Elves did Karaoke for us. We had a Chocolate Fountain, Tiramisu and all kinds of Desserts to eat after a feast of Turkey and all. Dinner at Eight supplied some different dishes from around the world theme and we all contributed our favorites. There were many games to play also, and everyone went home with a gift. Star Bucks donated to our club some coffee beans, which was really tasty too. We donated toys to the kids on a list of Reserves in Iraq... Thanks to all who gave, and balloons by Rose.  Star Bucks gift cards were given to the board, 2nd place trophy given out and Stacey gave out awards for A Special Kind of Family Award, and Most Special Clown Around Award, Outstanding Member of the Year Award, Reporter of the Year Award and Most Creative Clown Award. COAI News by Candy

Hello Fellow Clowns of America International Members!
Soon I will embarking on my first Cruise with other clowns down to Cabo San Lucas!  If you are on the ship, please let me know!  I would love to talk to you!  Also, if you are planning on going to the COAI Convention in Springfield Missouri, I will be bringing flyers for you to fill out and send in.  Pastor Jay, better known as “Fishbucket” is president of the alley that is putting on the convention this year and he is doing some fun things to bring people in.  One good way to find out is to be a member of the COAI Yahoo egroup.  This is where he is making many his announcements for convention.  Check it out at www.coai.org   and look for the Yahoo Egroup!
On another note, although this is not COAI related, this is for anyone who attends Western Region and knows RJ the clown.  She was a regular attendee and a lecturer many times at WRCA.  She has not attended for several years.  On December 22, she lost her oldest daughter Cynthia who was also a junior joey for many years.  Cynthia was driving home at midnight talking on her cell phone when she drifted into oncoming traffic and was killed instantly.  She was only 17 years of age.  If anyone would like to send RJ a card or offer her sympathy, please email me at:  btrsctch4h@cox.net  and I will send you her address.
Looking forward to a new year of financial gains and funny times!

Early December, Carmen “Charm” Tellez posted a search on a member site she belongs to BalloonHQ.com for a site that offers a listing of entertainers at restaurants. No one heard of any such monster. So, since there were many who though it was a good idea, she created the monster as http://www.DinnerWithaTwister.com

This site offers FREE listings for entertainers who entertain at a restaurant on a regular basis. If they want extras, then they can request extras. The site is going into search engines for parents to find restaurants offering entertainers and for restaurants to find entertainers.

           Logo Red Nose Response

WITH MORE & MORE DISASTERS HAPPENING AROUND THE WORLD, RED NOSE RELIEF IS NEEDED MORE THAN EVER.

RED NOSE RESPONSE has just learned that some of the over 3,000 books that were donated by clowns across the country to the elementary schools in New Orleans were thrown away by officials of the EPA who claimed they were contaminated by school books that they were mixed with. If  you can find it in your heart please purchase a book (or books) suitable for an elementary student and send it to:  Bethune Elementary School, C/O Principal Mary Haines-Smith, 3649 Laurel, New Orleans, LA  70115.  Just because Hurricane Katrina is over and not being mentioned in the news anymore, this does not mean that everything is back to normal.  Pass this information on to as many people as you can as this is just one of the schools that is putting out a plea for help.  Who knows how many more schools need books?  Clowns are known for their caring natures.  Now is the time for you to show it!  THANK YOU!

Pam House – Red Nose Response State Coordinator
