Pom-Pom's Patter
From your new President-
Hi everyone,
Last month we had an election and I became president of Funny Business. Three of our board members have served as board members before. I was president of Funny Business 1999 from to 2000 and secretary from 2000 to 2001. I have been doing the newsletter on and off since 1997 and started the website in July of 2000. Karla “Klinko is our vice president. She also served as President from 2002 to 2003. Pam "Twinkles d'Clown" House is our secretary, she was president from 2004 to 2006 and vice president from 2007 to 2009. Our treasurer Warner "Ichi Michi" Adachi is new to the board and we hope he will continue in the future. Congratulations to our new board members. I am looking forward to some exciting programs this year. - bump-a-nose, Pom-Pom

This Month’s Knock Knock Joke
Knock Knock!
Who's there?
Who.
Who who?
Is there an owl in here?

Last Month
We made wacky kazoo instruments with kazoos, funnels, garden hose and other items. It was so much fun. We had a great time putting together some really crazy kazoos using garden hose, funnels, colored tape, pom-poms and other items. The creativity was unbelievable. I felt like a kid in school playing can you top this.

The July 4th Parade.
Three clowns participated in the Anaheim Hills July 4th parade. They were Pom-Pom, Skippy dee Clown, and Dolly from the Classic Clowns. It was a fun but hot parade and Skippy got to impersonate an Olympic gold medalist.

Klinko's Kolumn by Karla

Hi to all you funny clowns! As your new Vice President I look forward to the months ahead. I encourage all of you to help make Funny Business a great club! We need your support and attendance to our meetings!! Rah! Rah! Rah! I was looking at our bylaws and wanted to share the following with you. Article Two: The purpose of Funny Business Clowns is to promote the quality of clowning, to share ideas and fellowship with one another. This is the reason we get together. It is the fellowship with all of you that I enjoy the most! I want every one of you to enjoy coming to our meetings and to learn and be encouraged. We want to hear what it is you want to see in the future months. Is it magic, balloons, story telling, puppets?? Let us know so that we can deliver! I look forward to seeing all of you at our next meeting. I can't wait to see what Dizzy Darla has in store for us. Bring a friend and jump right in as we all gather together and help each other learn. Your Vice President, Karla "Klinko" Medeiros <:0) xxx

COAI by Candy

Hello Fellow COAI clowns! Just a reminder that next year the Clowns of America International convention will be held in Houston Texas! The theme for the convention is “A little bit of Country and a little bit of Rock and Roll”. For those who have not attended a COAI convention before, the Texas clowns can really throw a shin dig! This should be a convention not to be missed! It will also be COAI’s 25th anniversary and the COAI board is planning some great things so try to get to this convention by hook or by crook! You can check it all out at www.coai.org Also don’t forget to keep records and send them in to COAI if you plan to celebrate clown week during the first week of August. All the information is at the website on how to collect and create records for this prestigious award! Happy summer! Butterscotch
