THE PRES SAYS by Dena

Well, here I am, my last official month in office. It's been a whirlwind year and a very fun one at that. I hope all of you have enjoyed the club this past year. So, as you know, May is election time. If you would like to run for an office, just let us know at the May meeting. Our elections are rather informal, no machines and no hanging chads. Also happening during the May meeting is our annual swap meet. You must let Becky know by May 10th if you would like a table or there is no guarantee that you will have a table if you show up at the meeting expecting to sell. This is a logistics issue, only as we may have to get additional tables from other rooms at the Church and we have to let them know well ahead of time. There will be a $5.00 charge for members (see By-Law changes). One more thing we'll be doing at the meeting is some brainstorming on fund raising ideas. I have a couple ideas and you'll never guess what they involve. If you guessed Angels baseball - you're correct!! If you answered correct, let me know at the meeting and you'll get a prize! Looking ahead to June, be ready to play games! Anyone who has a picnic or party game they would like to share, bring it along and we'll all join in the fun. I'll see you all on May 13th.

PICKLE JAR by Becky

It was voted on at the April meeting to make a change in the By-Laws. Here it is: The Funny Business calendar year runs from June 1st through May 31st. Membership dues will be $18.00 per year per person 16 years of age and older (we're talking people years here not clown years) with no family discounts. Members will receive free admission to all meetings including lectures with the exception of the hiring of a high priced lecturer and a vote by the membership to charge admission for all in attendance to defray the cost. The regular charge for lecture nights for non-members will be $5.00, with a ceiling of $10.00 in cases the board deems necessary. Members in good standing may host a table at our annual Swap Meet for a charge of $5.00 per table. All minors (15years old and under) are welcome to attend club meetings and events at no charge, but must have the adult member with them.
Now there is one other item for the newsletter, we have been contacted by Circus Vargas. They are in need of some clowns to do Meet & Greet for one hour prior to each show at the Garden Grove location. This is for Meet & Greet ONLY! No balloons and no give-a-ways. Payment is entrance to the show and 10 free tickets. The location is Garden Grove, at Euclid and Katella (near K-Mart). The show times are Tuesday, May 7th, 7:30pm, Wed. May 8th thru Fri. May 10th 5:00pm and 7:30pm, Sat. May 11th 2:30pm, 5:00pm & 7:30pm, Sun May 12th 12:30pm 3:00pm and 5:30pm. If you are available call Joan Hart @ 714-520-0258 to get on the schedule!

RITZ BITS by Rich

This is the last newsletter I'll be sending you as I'm stepping down as editor of "The Funnies". It's been a good learning experience and I've enjoyed bringing the newsletter to you all for the last 2 years. I'll work with the new editor to help get them started if they need any help. Remember, if anyone ever asks you where you are from just boldly reply "from my mommy". Speaking of her reminds me that May 12th is Mother's Day. Don't forget!! Also remember that May 10th and 11th is the A.C.E. Convention - do it!!!!
